Senior Cost Controller

About the role

Lycopodium is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to lead and coordinate project cost control activities across its global engineering and project delivery portfolio. You will ensure accurate, timely management of project costs in line with client, project, and company standards while providing insight for strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in executing project cost control activities, adhering to company and client procedures.
• Support Project Services Management in developing, implementing, and improving cost control procedures and systems.
• Mentor and guide Cost Controllers, fostering knowledge transfer and professional development.
• Maintain data integrity across cost systems and prepare high‑quality cost reports and forecasts.
• Collaborate with personnel across all business units to ensure accurate deliverables.

Required profile

• Tertiary‑level qualification in Accounting, Cost Control, Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience in cost control or a related role, preferably on international resources projects in an EPCM environment.
• South African citizenship or permanent residency.
• Strong knowledge of best practices in cost control, estimating, financial reporting, planning, and procurement lifecycle.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with ERP software packages.
• Experience with project management software packages.
