About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead its consumer‑industry accounting portfolio. The role blends technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and strategic partnership with clients.

Key responsibilities

Own the full accounting cycle and drive month‑end/quarter‑end close processes.
Lead, mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals.
Design and implement AI‑driven automation initiatives to streamline workflows.
Act as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑industry clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
Oversee accounting operations across the consumer portfolio, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Required profile

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on controller or senior accounting leadership.
Deep knowledge of the consumer industry (CPG, retail, or related).
Proven track record implementing accounting automations or AI‑driven improvements.
Strong client‑facing and communication abilities.
CPA preferred; ERP proficiency required.
