Senior Cloud Engineer

About the role

impact.com is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to act as a technical specialist for its infrastructure platform. You will join a focused squad that ensures production environments are stable, observable, secure, and cost‑effective, treating the infrastructure layer as a capability provider for the broader engineering organization.

Key responsibilities

• Author, maintain, and version high‑quality Terraform modules for GCP and AWS services.
• Deploy and manage foundational networking components such as VPCs, DNS, and IAM primitives.
• Operate the lifecycle of GKE/EKS clusters and compute instances, including secure base images and container standards.
• Implement drift detection and remediation with daily automated scans and 24‑hour remediation windows.
• Maintain observability back‑ends (metrics pipelines, log storage, alerting) to meet infrastructure‑layer monitoring standards.
• Ensure log pipeline uptime of 99.9% and keep false‑positive alert rates below 5% for critical alerts.
• Participate in stress testing, capacity planning, and quarterly toil‑reduction initiatives.
• Join the on‑call rotation, acknowledge P1 incidents within 5 minutes and aim for rapid MTTR.
• Execute vulnerability remediation and security patching per SOC advisories (critical within 48 h, high within 7 days) and maintain >95% patch compliance.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Strong background in Infrastructure‑as‑Code, observability, and security operations.
• Ability to work autonomously within a specialized squad and collaborate across engineering teams.
