Senior Architect - Data Centre

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Architect to lead data centre architectural design and infrastructure planning. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, managing BIM models, coordinating across engineering disciplines, and ensuring design compliance from concept through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs and data centre infrastructure plans, managing BIM models and drawing production.
• Coordinate design efforts within architecture and with engineering, resolving technical conflicts.
• Oversee design delivery, ensuring compliance with briefs, completeness, and accuracy across all project phases.
• Guide and mentor junior staff, fostering professional development.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, delivering presentations and aligning expectations.
• Implement value‑engineering and cost‑optimization strategies while maintaining design integrity.
• Assess sustainability and energy‑efficiency measures for data centre performance.
• Conduct compliance reviews, risk assessments, and mitigation planning.
• Manage project budgets and resource allocation, monitoring expenditures throughout delivery.

Required profile

• B.Arch or BSc Architecture.
• 12+ years of post‑graduate experience in architectural design.
• Professional registration as an Architect with SACAP.
