Senior Agile Project Manager

About the role

A leading banking institution in Sandton is looking for an experienced Senior Agile Project Manager to drive medium‑sized technology and business projects from initiation to delivery. The role combines strong Agile delivery expertise with stakeholder management to ensure projects meet scope, budget, timeline and governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver medium‑sized projects in line with agreed scope, budget, quality and timelines.
• Implement Agile methodologies across software development initiatives and facilitate Agile ceremonies.
• Mentor and coach project teams and junior project managers.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate epics, features and user stories into actionable delivery plans.
• Engage diverse stakeholder groups, manage expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations.
• Track and report progress using governance frameworks, manage risks, issues and change requests.
• Conduct business impact assessments and support organisational change initiatives.
• Lead retrospectives, lessons‑learned sessions and ensure successful project closure.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Business Management, Information Technology or a related field.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or equivalent Agile certification; additional project management certifications are a plus.
• 5–8 years of experience in project delivery, with at least 5 years as a Project Manager delivering technology and business projects in a banking environment.
