Senior Aeronautical Engineer

About the role

Incomar Dynamics, a subsidiary of the Incomar Group, is looking for a Senior Aeronautical Engineer to join its Aeronautical Department in Centurion, South Africa. The role involves leading design, analysis, integration and testing activities for aerodynamics, aerostructures, propulsion and flight performance on assigned projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic design and analysis, including CFD simulations.
• Conduct structural analysis and aero‑elastic assessments.
• Evaluate flight performance and develop flight‑test support plans.
• Lead prototyping, testing and systems integration activities.
• Support certification processes and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide manufacturing support and design validation.
• Manage configuration and product lifecycle documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering with relevant aeronautical subjects.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in aerospace and defence design and development.
• Proven experience in the specific discipline of aerodynamics, structures, propulsion or flight mechanics.
• Police clearance certificate prior to employment.

Required skills

• CFD analysis tools such as ANSYS Fluent, MSC Cradle or Star‑CCM.
• Finite‑element analysis tools like MSC Apex, MSC Nastran & Patran.
• Modelling and simulation software: MATLAB, Simulink, Julia or Octave.
• MCAD modelling and GD&T using SolidWorks.
• Aeronautical simulation, modelling and calculation expertise.
• Technical report writing and participation in design reviews.
• Configuration and product lifecycle management.
