Senior Actuarial Specialist

About the role

Hollard Life Solutions is looking for a Senior Actuarial Specialist within its Group Actuarial function, reporting to the Head: Actuarial Ecosystems. The role sits in the Group Finance, Assurance & Enablement business unit and focuses on modernising and streamlining actuarial reporting across Life and Short-Term Insurance. It combines actuarial expertise with technology, automation and strategic thinking to improve reporting capabilities, strengthen controls and build future-focused actuarial ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the modernisation and continuous improvement of actuarial reporting infrastructure across Life and Short-Term Insurance.
• Support and enhance the end-to-end actuarial reporting pipeline, from source data ingestion through to valuation and financial reporting outputs.
• Develop, maintain and improve actuarial models, databases and reporting solutions.
• Build and strengthen controls across actuarial reporting environments to improve governance, efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead automation initiatives and end-to-end process improvements across reserving, capital, reporting and actuarial data processes.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, within actuarial reporting frameworks.
• Drive strategic technical projects and support the adoption of new technologies across the Corporate Actuarial team.

Required profile

• Nearly qualified or newly qualified Actuary through a recognised actuarial body; progress toward Fellowship or equivalent is highly advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant actuarial experience in an insurance environment, in highly technical actuarial, data, modelling or reporting roles.
• Strong understanding of actuarial concepts applicable to Life and Short-Term Insurance, and knowledge of actuarial reporting, financial reporting and insurance reporting requirements.
• Proven track record of delivering projects, technical enhancements and process improvements.
• Strong stakeholder management, independent ownership and excellent technical, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Programming languages and tools such as SQL, Python and Git.
• AI-related technologies.
• Advantageous: additional qualifications in Data Science, Programming, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence or related technology disciplines.
