Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a well‑established accounting firm in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town, is expanding its team. The Senior Accountant will lead outsourced accounting projects, ensure accurate month‑end reporting and support the automation of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries and trial balances.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and comprehensive financial reports for clients.
• Assist with VAT, tax submissions and general‑ledger maintenance.
• Communicate directly with clients on accounting and reporting matters.
• Support the implementation of automation tools and system improvements within the accounting workflow.

Required profile

• Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles.
• Relevant BCom degree or equivalent; professional qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of post‑articles experience.
• Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
• Positive, proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Xero add‑ons and Zapier.
