Semi-Skilled Panel Beating Technician (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a semi‑skilled technician to join our panel beating workshop in Johannesburg on a contract basis. The role involves assisting with vehicle body repairs, preparing surfaces for paint, and supporting the workshop team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in repairing damaged vehicle body panels and refitting components such as bumpers, lights, mirrors, trims, and door handles.
• Perform basic panel beating tasks under supervision, including sanding, masking, filling, and priming.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and help with vehicle stripping and re‑assembly.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area, reporting any damaged tools or equipment.
• Support loading and moving vehicles within the workshop as required.

Required profile

• Matric (preferred) with 1‑3 years of experience in a panel beating or automotive workshop.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle body repairs and familiarity with workshop hand and power tools.
• Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.
• Physically fit, able to lift heavy components and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
