Security Supervisor

About the role

Compass Medical Waste Services is looking for a dedicated Security Supervisor to protect its people, assets and operations. The role involves leading a team of security personnel, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory standards, and maintaining a safe environment across all sites.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all security personnel and related activities.
• Ensure compliance with company security policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor access control systems and manage visitor registration processes.
• Conduct routine patrols and inspections of company premises.
• Investigate security incidents, prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage shift rosters to guarantee adequate coverage at all times.
• Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and on‑the‑job training for security staff.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services and external security providers as needed.
• Maintain operational readiness of all security equipment and systems.
• Promote a culture of safety, vigilance and professionalism throughout the workplace.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Valid PSIRA Grade A or B registration.
• 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory security role.
• Strong leadership, communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Knowledge of security operations, access control, investigations and incident management.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Licensed firearm owner.
• Competencies: attention to detail, problem‑solving, conflict management, integrity and ability to work under pressure.
