Security Site Supervisor

About the role

The Security Site Supervisor leads a team of on‑site security officers, ensuring a disciplined and professional presence at all times. This role is responsible for the smooth handover of shifts, rapid incident response, and continuous improvement of site security measures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and lead all on‑site security officers, maintaining performance and discipline.
• Coordinate officer relief, shift handovers and ensure full coverage of all posts.
• Monitor adherence to standing orders, SOPs and access‑control procedures.
• Record and report short‑posting incidents, breaches and any security‑relevant events within 24 hours.
• Respond promptly to alarms, review CCTV footage for investigations and prepare preliminary reports.
• Test the responsiveness of armed‑response service providers regularly.
• Provide daily situational updates to the Senior Manager, Security Operations.
• Brief incoming officers on incidents, special instructions and operational changes.
• Maintain accurate entries in the Occurrence Book and ensure rosters are completed on time.
• Identify site vulnerabilities, recommend improvements and promote vigilance among guards.

Required profile

• Matric or Security Investigation certificate/diploma.
• PSIRA Security Grading A or B.
• 5‑6 years of relevant security experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record in security operations and guard management.
• Junior managerial or tactical security courses are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience with CCTV and control‑room operations.
• Firearm competency and ability to handle firearms found on site.
• Risk‑audit capability.
• Knowledge of health and safety and basic firefighting procedures.
• Report writing and strong written communication in English.
