Security Officer X6 – East London

About the role

Icebolethu Group is seeking a vigilant, authoritative, and professional Security Officer to safeguard its premises, employees, visitors, assets, and equipment in East London. The successful candidate will maintain a strong visible security presence, conduct active surveillance, detect suspicious behaviour and prevent vandalism, theft or criminal activity.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize entry/exit for visitors and vehicles, and conduct regular foot patrols to secure all exits, doors and windows.
• Check CCTV systems and operate communication equipment to proactively identify security breaches or unlawful acts.
• Respond rapidly to alarms, investigate suspicious individuals or activities, and assist people in distress.
• Remove trespassers and detain perpetrators in accordance with legal protocols until law enforcement arrives.
• Maintain daily logs of surveillance activities and produce clear incident reports for management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Valid PSIRA registration/certification.
• Minimum two years proven experience as a Security Guard or Security Officer.
• Physical health and fitness; certified in Self‑Defense and First Aid / Basic Life Support.
• Valid firearm competency (handgun, shotgun or rifle) and advanced/defensive driving skills are advantageous.
• Strong observation, legal knowledge of security protocols and solid report‑writing abilities.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
