Security Controller

About the role

Dis‑Chem Pharmacies are looking for a Security Controller to lead on‑site security operations and loss‑prevention activities. The role focuses on real‑time incident investigation, high‑risk stock oversight and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate on‑site security staff, including response to incidents and daily operational reporting.
• Manage loss‑prevention processes, monitor high‑risk inventory and conduct stock control audits.
• Investigate security incidents, prepare reports and liaise with law enforcement or courts when required.
• Ensure compliance with PSIRA regulations, POPIA and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Operate and maintain Hikvision CCTV and access‑control systems.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with Grade B or A accreditation and PSIRA registration.
• Minimum two years of retail security experience in a shopping‑mall environment.
• Proven ability to supervise teams, conduct conflict de‑escalation and produce clear written reports.
• Knowledge of POPIA, courtroom procedures and basic first‑aid certification.

Required skills

• Operational computer proficiency with incident‑management and reporting tools.
• Hands‑on experience with Hikvision security and CCTV systems.
• Familiarity with digital incident‑reporting platforms and dashboards.
• Basic accounting and inventory‑management skills.
