Saw Operator – TimberCity

About the role

The Saw Operator will work in the TimberCity unit of The Building Company, cutting timber and boards to customer specifications. The role focuses on delivering accurate cuts, maintaining high safety standards, and providing prompt service to clients loading their vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• Feed raw timber material into the saw and adjust machine settings as required.
• Regulate belt speed and temperature to achieve precise cuts.
• Execute edge trimming and sanding to meet quality standards.
• Assist customers with loading and ensure timber is neatly packed and accessible.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping and safety protocols.
• Carry out ad‑hoc tasks and support company values and culture.

Required profile

• Grade 1 qualification (or equivalent).
• Approximately 2 years of experience operating saw machinery in a timber or manufacturing environment.
