Salesperson / Technical Sales Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Salesperson/Technical Sales Assistant to join our Johannesburg team. The role combines front‑line customer interaction with back‑office sales support, ensuring quotes are delivered quickly and accurately. You will work closely with the business owner to drive sales growth and maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the company’s email inbox and respond to enquiries with timely, competitive quotes.
• Forward complex requests to appropriate sales staff or departments.
• Handle walk‑in customers, take orders, provide product advice and upsell where possible.
• Prepare large orders with 100 % accuracy and support tender submissions.
• Oversee the daily sales process to meet targets and maintain sales records.

Required profile

• Passionate about sales and highly customer‑focused.
• Strong sense of urgency, extremely organised and meticulous.
• Excellent people skills and a willingness to learn a wide range of stock items.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Good command of English and a technical mindset, preferably with experience in hardware or drilling equipment.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
