Sales Representative – Renewable Energy

About the role

Our client, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to drive B2B growth in South Africa. The role involves extensive travel across the country to develop new business and nurture existing client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and secure new B2B opportunities within renewable energy, solar PV, and battery storage markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure long‑term growth.
• Conduct client meetings and presentations, delivering tailored sales proposals.
• Generate and qualify leads through networking, cold calling, referrals, and market research.
• Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while maintaining accurate forecasts.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close sales opportunities.
• Travel extensively across South Africa for site visits, customer meetings, and business development.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, activities, and opportunities using CRM systems.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging renewable technologies.
• Collaborate with technical and operations teams to ensure seamless project handovers and implementation.

Required profile

• Matric certificate (mandatory).
• Tertiary qualification in marketing (preferred).
• Computer literacy (mandatory).
• Valid driver’s licence (mandatory) and willingness to travel nationwide.
• Minimum 1‑3 years proven B2B sales track record (mandatory).
• Prior experience in renewable energy, solar PV, or battery storage (strongly preferred).

• Strong lead generation and prospecting abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Computer literacy and experience with CRM systems.
