Sales Representative – Johannesburg

About the role

Puratos is seeking an energetic Sales Representative to join its Johannesburg branch. You will be responsible for driving sales of high‑quality bakery, pastry and chocolate ingredients to B2B customers, supporting the company’s growth in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve personal sales targets within the assigned channel.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers.
• Identify new sales opportunities, including new customers and additional SKUs per customer.
• Collect and analyse market and competitor information and report findings.
• Resolve customer issues and propose optimal solutions.
• Collaborate with Technical and Marketing departments for product support, demos, seminars and new product launches.
• Coordinate order processing and information flow with internal teams.
• Prepare accurate sales forecasts and manage customer debt and late payments.
• Produce regular sales and market reports for the Sales Manager.

Required profile

• Matric and a Diploma in Sales or Marketing.
• 3‑5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the food/FMCG sector.
• Fluent in English; Afrikaans and Zulu are advantageous.
• Proficient with standard office software (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Business‑driven with strong presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
