Sales Representative

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, energetic and target‑driven Sales Representative to join our team. The role focuses on developing new business, servicing existing customers and promoting a comprehensive range of PPE and industrial products.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking and customer visits.
• Promote and sell PPE, workwear, safety footwear and related industrial products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while expanding the customer base.
• Achieve monthly sales targets and contribute to branch growth.
• Prepare quotations, process orders and follow up on sales opportunities.
• Provide professional product advice and maintain excellent product knowledge.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints efficiently.
• Collaborate with Stores, Procurement, Dispatch and Accounts to ensure exceptional service.
• Assist with stock movement initiatives, promotions and clearance campaigns.
• Monitor competitor activities and provide market feedback.
• Attend exhibitions, trade shows and promotional events as required.
• Support collection of outstanding customer payments and maintain accurate sales records.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Valid South African driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle and cellphone.
• 3‑5 years of external sales experience, preferably in PPE, industrial, safety, hardware or manufacturing.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet targets.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with sales systems or CRM platforms.
