Sales Order Clerk

About the role

The role provides senior‑level internal sales and contractual customer management, ensuring orders, contracts and commercial requirements are accurately administered and executed in line with Aberdare policies and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary internal contact for contractual customers, administering contracts, pricing, specifications, delivery lead‑times, MOQ’s and service level commitments.
• Receive, verify and process customer orders in SAP, ensuring alignment with approved quotations, contracts and correct material codes.
• Provide proactive customer service, communicating potential supply or delivery issues and maintaining high confidence through accurate information.
• Maintain zero‑error order processing, prepare quotations, generate pro‑forma and final invoices, and manage credit/debit notes.
• Monitor stock levels, track contract usage, liaise with production planning and debtors, and maintain accurate customer databases.

Required profile

• Matric plus a Diploma or qualification in Sales, Business Management or related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with 2‑3 years managing contractual/key customers.
• Strong knowledge of SAP (Inventory and Sales modules) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of cable products, specifications and municipal/government contracts is highly advantageous.
