Sales Manager - Long-Term Insurance

About the role

Assupol Life is hiring a Sales Manager in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, on a permanent basis. The role covers developing and implementing the sales and marketing plan, recruiting and training sales representatives and brokers, building broker relationships, managing production targets and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an integrated sales and marketing plan, aligned with the regional plan and submitted to management, and review and update the strategic plan regularly
• Recruit and select sales representatives in line with FSCA requirements, advertise positions, conduct training and coaching, and assess representatives on the job
• Train brokers, provide office documentation, handle administration queries, check their business methods and keep them updated on products and software
• Build professional relationships with brokers, identify and develop new markets, negotiate stop orders and retain market share in existing ones
• Monitor production targets, present products in the market and supervise representatives, including mentoring and observing client meetings
• Handle complaints, complaints referred for investigation and debarment hearings, and record advice and financial needs analysis
• Comply with FAIS requirements, the code of conduct, TCF and risk and audit requirements

Required profile

• Matric and a relevant qualification recognised by the FSCA
• Technical or legal certification and Regulatory Examination Level 5 (representatives) and Level 1 (key individuals)
• 1 year of management and oversight experience in categories A, B1, B2, C, B1-A, B2-A and retail pension funds
• 2 years in project management and 2 years in the insurance industry
• At least 1 year of advice and intermediary experience in the same categories
