Sales Manager – Industrial Pumps

About the role

Sulzer, a global engineering leader, is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and expand market share for its pump solutions in South Africa. You will lead a sales team, develop strategic plans, and build strong customer relationships across the industrial sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to exceed targets in the South African market.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate a team of sales professionals.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, key accounts and strategic partnerships.
• Maintain and grow existing customer relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to adapt sales approaches.
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports and budgets for senior management.
• Collaborate with technical, engineering and service teams for seamless product delivery.
• Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring profitable agreements.
• Represent Sulzer Pumps at industry events and trade shows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing or related field.
• 7‑10 years of progressive sales experience, with 3‑5 years in a sales‑management role.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of the South African industrial market.
• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively within South Africa.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
