Sales Engineer - Electrical / Energy Sector

About the role

Our client is an established and growing business within the electrical and energy sector, specialising in technical products and solutions for industrial and power‑related applications. This role offers the chance to develop the customer base in the Eastern Cape and play a key part in the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and actively grow the client base.
• Provide technically appropriate solutions and product advice, preparing quotations, proposals and sales presentations.
• Conduct customer visits and travel as required.
• Work closely with internal technical and operational teams to deliver suitable solutions.
• Follow up enquiries, quotations and sales opportunities through to completion.
• Achieve agreed sales and business development targets.
• Stay up‑to‑date with developments in the electrical, energy and renewable energy sectors.

Required profile

• 3–5 years’ experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role.
• Solid electrical background, preferably within heavy current/electrical power.
• Experience selling renewable energy plant equipment is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of tap changers and auxiliary equipment for power transformers is highly advantageous.
• Self‑motivated, commercially minded and able to work independently with a valid driver’s licence.
