Sales Account Manager – Merchant Acquisition

About the role

The ENTERTAINER is seeking a dynamic Sales Account Manager to grow and manage its merchant network across South Africa. You will be responsible for acquiring new partners and deepening existing relationships across dining, leisure, beauty, fitness and entertainment categories.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect new merchants through market visits, networking and outreach.
• Manage the full sales cycle from pitch to negotiation and contract closure.
• Collect, verify and process all documentation required for merchant agreements and offers.
• Onboard and train merchants on platform usage, ensuring they can maximise value.
• Collaborate with content, operations, marketing and finance teams to guarantee smooth onboarding and ongoing satisfaction.
• Monitor merchant performance, feedback and redemptions to drive retention and engagement.
• Support merchants with tactical campaigns and promotional initiatives throughout the year.
• Track daily activities, report progress against KPIs and maintain up‑to‑date market knowledge, including competitor trends.

Required profile

• Persistent and confident negotiator who does not accept “no” as an answer.
• Customer‑focused with the ability to listen, understand needs and deliver fast, quality results.
• Self‑starter who can work independently without close supervision.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to prioritise multiple accounts in a fast‑paced environment.
