Salaried Financial Advisor (In-house)

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a Salaried Financial Advisor to join its team in East London. The role is a FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act) position in Category B, meaning strict adherence to Fit and Proper provisions covering honesty, integrity and professional conduct, together with relevant qualifications and experience. It focuses on giving expert advice on a defined range of products to a designated client base, within allocated market segments, and offers a stable base salary with performance-based bonuses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert financial advice on a defined range of Old Mutual products, in line with the customer value proposition and the compliance framework.
• Develop, implement and regularly review a personal business plan to meet performance targets.
• Track progress against the business plan and adjust where needed.
• Review business performance regularly to identify areas for improvement.
• Engage with clients in the designated market segment to understand their financial circumstances and aspirations.
• Maintain strong product knowledge in the specialised range and collaborate with internal teams for seamless client service.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• Valid driver's licence and access to your own vehicle for client engagements.
• Full FAIS compliance, including an NQF Level 5 FSCA-approved qualification.
• Clean criminal record and clean credit history, verified through checks.
• At least three years of relevant experience; experience in sales or client-facing advisory roles is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Presentation skills are a valuable asset.
