SAIPA Clerk – Entry Level Accounting Role

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic SAIPA Clerk to join our accounting team in Pretoria. The role offers hands‑on experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping and tax compliance while you work towards becoming a Professional Accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing client financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Process monthly accounting entries, reconcile bank accounts and maintain general ledgers.
• Conduct basic financial analysis and highlight trends or discrepancies under supervision.
• Support the preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE and income‑tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with SAIPA, IFRS for SMEs and other regulatory requirements.
• Prepare management accounts and supporting schedules for client performance monitoring.
• Respond to client queries and provide general accounting assistance.
• Collaborate with senior accountants to meet deadlines and deliver high‑quality work.

Required profile

• Aspiring Professional Accountant registered with SAIPA.
• Accounting or finance degree completed or in progress, with audit as a subject.
• No prior work experience required.
• Own reliable transport to commute to the office.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Pastel accounting software.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
