SAICA Clerk – Audit & Accounting Support (Full‑Time)

About the role

This full‑time SAICA Clerk position supports audit and accounting teams in delivering high‑quality financial services to clients. It offers practical experience in audits, financial reporting and tax compliance, ideal for candidates aspiring to become Chartered Accountants (CA(SA)).

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of client financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Support audit and assurance engagements, following established auditing procedures and standards.
• Conduct basic financial analysis, identify trends and provide recommendations under supervision.
• Help prepare and review tax returns, ensuring adherence to tax legislation.
• Maintain compliance with SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA and ISA standards throughout all work.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations, assisting in communicating audit findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with senior staff and team members on various client projects.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, up‑to‑date and properly filed.

Required profile

• Accounting degree (CA stream) completed; PGDA/CTA studies in progress or upcoming.
• Aspiration to qualify as a CA(SA) and sit the first board exam (IAC) in January.
• No prior work experience required for Class A candidates; audit experience considered a bonus for Class B.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards (ISA, IFRS for SMEs).

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit software such as Caseware.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for financial reporting.
