About the role

Assist in audits, financial reporting and compliance while gaining practical experience in a professional accounting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in performing audits and assurance services, following established auditing procedures.
• Conduct basic financial analysis, identify trends and provide recommendations under supervision.
• Help prepare and review tax returns, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable accounting standards, auditing guidelines and regulatory requirements (SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, ISA).
• Participate in client meetings and presentations, assisting in explaining audit findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with senior team members on client projects to ensure smooth execution and quality deliverables.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records to support efficient auditing and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Aspiration to become a CA(SA) – suitable for Class A (no experience) or Class B (audit experience a bonus).
• Completed accounting degree (CA stream) with PGDA/CTA studies in progress.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, ISA, IFRS for SMEs and related regulatory requirements.
• For Class A: preparing first board exam (IAC) in January; for Class B: currently undertaking articles or studying part‑time.

Required skills

• Proficiency in audit software (Caseware).
• Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
