Roller Floor Attendant

About the role

The Roller Floor Attendant supports the continuous and safe operation of the roller floor section in a maize milling plant. You will work closely with the miller to keep production flowing, maintain equipment, and ensure a clean, compliant work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor roller mills, feeders, and conveying equipment for proper product flow.
• Check roll feeds, sifter streams, and stock levels regularly.
• Identify and report blockages, abnormal noises, vibrations, or equipment faults immediately.
• Assist the miller with routine maintenance and spout changes.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including clearing chokes and keeping the area clean.
• Follow HASSAP regulations, food safety standards, and plant safety procedures, including lockout/tag‑out.
• Wear required PPE at all times and report unsafe conditions or near‑misses.
• Participate in safety and department meetings.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education.
• At least one year of experience in a milling or production environment.
• Understanding of health and safety standards.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
