Production Foreman – Material Preparation & CNC Manufacturing

About the role

The client, a leading player in the mining and beneficiation sector, is seeking a Production Foreman to lead material preparation and CNC manufacturing operations in Klerksdorp. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising a range of CNC and conventional machining processes to meet production targets while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and prioritise departmental work using the ERP/MRP system to meet project deadlines.
• Supervise safe and efficient operation of CNC machining centres, CNC horizontal boring mill, conventional fitting & turning, CNC press brakes, CNC laser, plasma and tube laser cutting machines, and CNC profile plasma cutters.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications, review job packs and utilise 2D/3D nesting software to maximise material utilisation.
• Manage production work orders, monitor progress, track labour and machine utilisation, and ensure accurate production data in the ERP system.
• Identify bottlenecks, drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, and support Lean manufacturing practices.
• Lead, coach and develop the team, manage attendance and performance, and mentor artisans and operators.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising CNC machining and conventional manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP production planning systems and ability to manage work orders and data integrity.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards and continuous improvement.
• Leadership skills to coach, mentor and manage a diverse production team.
