Risk Manager Infrastructure

About the role

Are you a Risk Management Professional with proven experience in infrastructure development and capital projects? This could be your next career opportunity! Our client is looking for an experienced professional with 5+ years’ relevant risk management experience, including 2+ years post‑professional registration, and a strong track record managing risks on major projects valued above R75 million.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project risk management frameworks and processes.
• Facilitate project risk identification, assessment, evaluation, and treatment.
• Maintain project risk registers and monitor risk mitigation actions.
• Conduct risk workshops and stakeholder engagements.
• Monitor emerging risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare risk management reports for project and management teams.
• Support project governance and assurance processes.
• Ensure compliance with organisational and client risk management requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' relevant risk management experience, including at least 2 years post‑professional registration.
• Experience in infrastructure development and capital projects with cumulative value exceeding R75 million.
• NQF Level 7 qualification such as a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Project Management, Built Environment, or an Advanced Diploma/B.Tech in these fields.
• Professional registration with the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) as a Professional Risk Practitioner (PrRP) or Professional Risk Specialist (PrRS), first registration from 2020 onward.
