Rig Facilities & Lab Testing Manager – Mineral Processing

About the role

Our client, a specialised South African OEM in the mineral processing and mining equipment sector, is looking for a Rig Facilities & Lab Testing Manager. You will be responsible for running the testing rig and laboratory where clients evaluate equipment and processes before investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operation, readiness and safety of the testing and rig facility.
• Plan, coordinate and execute equipment testing, trials and client demonstrations.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to prepare equipment and resolve testing issues.
• Host client visits, capture requirements and ensure a professional testing experience.
• Record testing results, generate reports and provide recommendations.
• Develop relationships with mining and mineral‑processing clients and identify new testing opportunities.
• Support business development by turning successful trials into commercial opportunities.
• Maintain equipment, facilities and documentation to required standards.

Required profile

• Diploma, BTech or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in mining, mineral processing, process equipment or industrial OEM environments.
• Proven experience managing a technical facility, plant, workshop or testing environment.
• Strong understanding of mineral‑processing equipment and processes.
• Experience working directly with mining or mineral‑processing clients.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
