Restaurant Supervisor – Pre‑opening

About the role

The Cape Town EDITION Hotel is seeking a proactive Restaurant Supervisor to lead the team during its pre‑opening phase. You will ensure seamless service delivery, uphold brand standards, and create a welcoming environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate staff to deliver optimal service and meet guest needs.
• Inspect staff grooming, attire, and uniform compliance.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup, cleaning, and securing the venue.
• Manage inventory, stock requisitions, and FIFO organization of storage areas.
• Monitor dining room seating, service flow, safety, and guest wellbeing.
• Complete work orders for maintenance and report safety incidents.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
• Enforce company safety, security, and quality policies.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and provide assistance to individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supervising restaurant or food‑and‑beverage operations, preferably in a pre‑opening environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and act as a role model.
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and adherence to uniform and appearance standards.
• Commitment to safety, security, and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Ability to work flexible hours and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb and standing for extended periods.
