Restaurant Cook

About the role

The Restaurant Cook works under the guidance of the Restaurant Manager to prepare and present meals for guests, support service operations, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. This position is part of the in‑house Nutrition Services team and contributes to daily dining experiences as well as special events.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare foods according to recipes and menu specifications.
• Serve customers, operate the cash register, and handle transactions.
• Clean and straighten serving and preparation areas after service.
• Assist with setup and service for parties, meetings, and other special events.
• Maintain compliance with food safety standards and hold a valid County Food Handler's Permit.

Required profile

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations (percentages and fractions).
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
• Commitment to following hygiene and safety procedures.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $18.11 (2026‑2027 Support Salary Table).
• Work schedule: 4 hours per day, 225 days per year.
