Responsible Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy

About the role

The Responsible Pharmacist will lead the daily operations of a busy retail pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. This role combines hands‑on dispensing, inventory control, and team leadership to deliver high‑quality pharmaceutical services to the community.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards for a retail pharmacy.
• Adhere to company policies and strategic objectives.
• Accurately dispense prescription and over‑the‑counter medications.
• Maintain precise inventory records and manage stock levels.
• Professionally handle incoming calls and customer inquiries.
• Lead, coach, and manage a team of pharmacy staff.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with SAPC.
• B Pharm qualification (PCDT accreditation advantageous).
• 2–3 years experience in a retail pharmacy environment as a Pharmacy Manager or Responsible Pharmacist.
• Willingness to work retail hours, including every second Saturday.
• Preferably residing in Muizenberg or surrounding areas.
• Strong attention to detail, hands‑on approach, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Propharm Rxwin dispensing program (advantageous).
