Reservations Supervisor

About the role

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is seeking an experienced Reservations Supervisor to join a busy 4‑ or 5‑star hotel in Cape Town. The position is suited to a hands‑on reservations professional with strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail and a proven track record in high‑volume hotel environments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Reservations Department.
• Support the Reservations Manager in achieving occupancy, revenue and service targets.
• Coach, mentor and develop the reservations team.
• Handle telephone, email and online enquiries promptly and accurately.
• Oversee booking confirmations and maintain accurate reservation data.
• Compile and generate daily reports.
• Respond professionally to guest enquiries and resolve concerns efficiently.
• Monitor service standards, operational procedures and quality control.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Sales and Marketing to ensure a personalised guest journey.
• Assist in managing the department in the absence of the Reservations Manager and ensure compliance with legislation and hotel policies.

Required profile

• Hospitality qualification (advantageous).
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Reservations Supervisor in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel.
• Experience in a high‑volume reservations and revenue‑conversion environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching and team‑development abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a guest‑focused approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Opera or a similar Property Management System.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
