Reservationist

About the role
The Capital Hotels is seeking a Reservationist to manage guest reservations and ensure smooth communication with travel agents and referral networks. You will be the primary point of contact for booking inquiries, confirmations, cancellations, and modifications.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to reservation requests received via mail, telephone, fax, or a central reservation system.
- Create and maintain accurate reservation records organized by arrival date and alphabetically.
- Prepare and send confirmation letters to guests promptly.
- Process cancellations and modifications efficiently.
Required profile
- Matric or Hospitality Diploma (or equivalent).
- 2–3 years of experience as a reservationist.
- Hands‑on problem‑solving ability and calmness under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Honest, trustworthy, and highly detail‑oriented.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Capacity to handle confidential information with diplomacy.
Required skills
- Proficiency with a Hotel Management System, preferably Protel.
