About the role

Our client, a specialist reinsurance services provider, is looking for a Reporting Manager to lead financial reporting and compliance for its South Africa operations. Based in Pretoria East, the role combines on‑site collaboration 2‑3 days a week with remote work for the remainder of the week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accounting services to a portfolio of client accounts and review management and financial statements prepared by the team.
• Prepare accurate management reports, forecasts and budgets, consolidating work from junior team members.
• Analyse complex financial transactions and make appropriate recommendations.
• Coordinate and oversee financial statement audits.
• Review monthly/quarterly management accounts, cash‑flow management and debtor control.
• Ensure financial reporting packages meet accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Validate compliance software and sign‑off on internal control framework.
• Perform and oversee required regulatory filings.
• Review and update insurance documentation.
• Drive the build‑out and refinement of internal finance processes, proposing and implementing efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or finance professional with experience in financial reporting, audit coordination and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage client portfolios and lead junior staff in preparing reports and budgets.
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to process optimisation.
