Repairs & Maintenance Team Member

About the role

The boutique hotel in Morningside, Durban is seeking a dedicated Repairs & Maintenance Team Member to keep all guest‑facing and back‑of‑house facilities operating smoothly. You will be the first line of defence for any technical issue, ensuring comfort, safety and operational efficiency for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across the property.
• Repair electrical, plumbing and mechanical faults promptly.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, pool, spa and other facilities.
• Maintain HVAC, lighting, water and generator systems.
• Support refurbishment and renovation projects as required.
• Manage tools, workshop areas and pest‑control measures.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a technical maintenance background.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good time‑management and the capacity to work independently.
• Physical fitness and manual dexterity for handling equipment.
• Awareness of safety procedures and budget management.
