Repair and Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Repair and Maintenance Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The role involves providing technical support for software, hardware and connectivity issues, ensuring swift resolution and high user satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, investigate and resolve software and hardware problems.
• Respond to user support requests via phone, email, chat and other channels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot connectivity, printing and system issues.
• Consult with users and clients to determine root causes and deliver effective solutions.
• Apply technical knowledge and established procedures to resolve queries efficiently.
• Guide users through step‑by‑step troubleshooting processes.
• Utilise diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint faults.
• Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions and technical documentation.
• Escalate unresolved issues when necessary and follow through to closure.
• Deliver high levels of customer service and ensure user satisfaction.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in technical support, maintenance engineering or IT support roles.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, networking and troubleshooting processes.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and support systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.
