Registered Nurse – Ward – Winelands

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our ward team in the Winelands region. The role focuses on delivering safe, cost‑effective, evidence‑based patient care before, during and after surgery. You will act as a role model in clinical governance and support the holistic recovery of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Support patients on admission, pre‑ and post‑operatively, monitoring physiological parameters.
• Provide treatment and assess recovery until patients are fit for discharge.
• Document care, maintain accurate nursing care plans, and audit health records for compliance.
• Ensure infection prevention, standard precautions, and a safe therapeutic environment.
• Manage stock, control inventory, and oversee medication prescription liaison between patients and doctors.
• Mentor junior staff, supervise support personnel, and facilitate a learning environment.
• Perform wound inspection, patient education on post‑op wound care, and data capturing.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF level 4) and a Diploma in General Nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with post‑operative and surgical experience.
• Experience in a private hospital setting is advantageous.
