Registered Nurse / Midwife – Tembisa, Gauteng

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Midwife will deliver high‑quality patient care and wellness in a maternity setting, adhering to South African Nursing Council standards. You will lead antenatal, labour, and post‑natal care for expectant mothers while supporting the nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties in line with SANC, DOH and National Core Standards.
• Advocate for patients, uphold the Code of Conduct and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Supervise, organise and lead the nursing team to ensure therapeutic standards are met.
• Participate in internal and external audits (DOH, SANC, SHERQ, risk audits).
• Conduct ward rounds, accompany doctors, and develop customised care plans.
• Monitor nursing activities for protocol compliance, safety and security.
• Lead midwifery services: provide antenatal care, identify high‑risk pregnancies, support labour and delivery, and educate mothers on newborn care.

Required profile

• Nursing degree or diploma with current South African Nursing Council registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in maternity nursing, preferably in a private hospital.
• Computer literacy.
