Registered Nurse – Day Ward (Ribumed Day Hospital)

About the role

The Ribumed Day Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide age‑appropriate care on its day ward. You will work within the South African Nursing Council (SANC) scope of practice, delivering safe and compassionate patient care in a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients on the day ward, adhering to SANC standards and hospital policies.
• Respond promptly to patient complaints and clinical needs, ensuring timely interventions.
• Lead and supervise junior staff, delegating tasks while maintaining quality of care.
• Ensure compliance with SANC legislation and internal stakeholder regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with doctors and multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and holding a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
• Preferably two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a surgical or day‑ward setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with doctors, patients, and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to cover additional hours when required.
• Good telephone etiquette and professional communication skills.
