Registered Nurse – Clinics (Talent Pool)

About the role

The Clinic Nurse will deliver primary and occupational health services within on‑site clinics for Discovery Health clients. Working within agreed operating hours, you will manage acute and chronic conditions, provide health‑promotion activities and support occupational health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physical examinations and chronic condition surveillance.
• Treat primary‑level acute care conditions and provide emergency injectables.
• Perform ergonomic assessments, stress screening and weight‑management counselling.
• Administer flu and other vaccinations, family‑planning education, pregnancy testing, HPV screening and contraception dispensing.
• Carry out screening procedures such as Pap smears, HIV testing, urinalysis, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and haemoglobin measurements.
• Interpret laboratory results and perform phlebotomy when required.
• Facilitate virtual consultations with General Practitioners and coordinate referrals.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualified to practice in South Africa.
• Experience in primary health care and occupational health settings.
• Ability to manage both acute and chronic health conditions.
• Strong knowledge of South African health legislation related to dispensing and vaccinations.
