Regional Training Officer

About the role

The Regional Training Officer is responsible for designing, delivering and managing technical and behavioural training solutions for security operations across regional centres. The role ensures compliance with legislative and regulatory standards while meeting business and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and support identified learning interventions and monitor learner completion rates.
• Record learner achievements, maintain training systems and generate performance reports.
• Implement learner rating systems and liaise with management on performance outcomes.
• Plan and schedule technical and behavioural learning programmes to address regional skill gaps.
• Maintain training provider accreditation and ensure compliance with SASSETA/TETA requirements.
• Prepare and submit assessment, moderation, audit and compliance reports (SETAs, PSIRA).
• Maintain accurate administrative records, expense compliance and weekly training reports.
• Participate in health and safety forums, report incidents and follow up on corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in PSIRA/SASSETA training environments.
• At least 3 years operational security experience (CIT, armed response, etc.).
• Diploma in ODETDP Level 5.
• Sound understanding of statistical information and reporting.
• Experience planning, facilitating and monitoring technical and behavioural learning interventions.
• Valid driver’s licence, valid firearm competency certificate.
• PSIRA Instructor Grade A – essential.
• Firearm Instructor and Range Officer – essential.
