Regional SHEQ Manager (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Regional SHEQ Manager provides day‑to‑day health, safety, environment and quality support to sites and operating teams across the designated region. The role focuses on coaching field personnel, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and driving continuous improvement of SHEQ processes.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle checklists and conduct daily depot inspections.
• Follow up on purchase orders, payments, and inductions for training.
• Compile risk assessments, method statements, and environmental impact assessments.
• Maintain PRA, EIA registers and legal registers, ensuring they are signed off.
• Conduct employee and contractor inductions, compile safety files, and manage contractor documentation.
• Investigate incidents, report near‑misses, and compile lessons learned.
• Issue permits to contractors, oversee contractor activities, and conduct planned task observations.
• Host SHEQ meetings, perform weekly site visits, and ensure organograms are up‑to‑date.
• Source and implement continuous improvement initiatives for the SHEQ system.

Required profile

• Matric qualification; tertiary education considered beneficial.
• Registration with SAMTRAC and SACPCMP.
• Completed Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment course.
• Incident Investigation course certification.
• First Aid Level 3 certification.
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 08).
• Basic fire‑fighting training.
