Regional Manager - Inland

About the role

Icebolethu Group, South Africa’s second‑largest funeral assurance provider, is seeking a Regional Manager for its Inland region. Based at the Johannesburg head office, the manager will oversee statutory obligations, business processes and operational capability of the Financial Services Provider (FSP) across branches, kiosks and field operations while ensuring full regulatory compliance and driving sales growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage statutory obligations, operational abilities and financial services delivered by the FSP and its authorised representatives.
• Instil, champion and monitor a strict Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) culture across the region.
• Ensure compliance with the General Code of Conduct and all regulatory requirements.
• Audit and track Fit and Proper status of representatives, branch supervisors and consultants.
• Partner with Area Managers to vet compliance, performance, honesty and integrity of field staff.
• Oversee training, technical knowledge and operational skills of Area Managers, Branch Supervisors and Consultants.
• Monitor activities of field agents and consultants to mitigate compliance risks.
• Collaborate with the Burial Unit Head to ensure high‑quality burial service delivery.
• Drive insurance sales across Boxer kiosks, physical branches and field agent networks.
• Maintain up‑to‑date compliance records and regional performance analytics using computer and reporting tools.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric essential; tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing or related field preferred.
• Regulatory Examination (RE‑5 or RE‑1) qualification is advantageous.
• Clear ITC credit record and criminal record.
• Own reliable transport and functional mobile phone.
• 2–5 years experience in the financial services sector and 2–3 years in a junior management or supervisory role.
• Proven track record in marketing and sales of life assurance products and experience with FAIS compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication and ethical conduct, with a commitment to Treating Customers Fairly.
