Refrigeration Technician

About the role

Rubicon Industrial Technology, a leading supplier of industrial automation solutions to manufacturers and system integrators in South Africa, is hiring a Refrigeration Technician for its Services Business Unit. The technician handles repairs and breakdowns, working on refrigeration, air conditioning and associated equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service and repair refrigeration, air conditioning and all associated tasks.
• Complete service reports and communicate them to the relevant people.
• Communicate field service activities with the Service Technician.
• Work with Service Partners and coordinate with them.
• Understand customer requirements and propose the most cost-effective solution from Rubicon.
• Perform other duties as requested from time to time.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Refrigeration qualification.
• At least 4 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Previous field service experience preferred.
• Valid driver's licence.

Required skills

• Refrigeration, mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Good working knowledge of refrigeration products.
• Experience using electrical meters and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of industrial air conditioners, intercoolers and heat exchangers.
• Ability to work independently, in factory environments and under pressure, with attention to detail.
