Quality Systems Officer – Processing Plant

About the role

The Quality Systems Officer will support the County Fair processing plant by maintaining and improving food safety and quality systems. This role ensures compliance with standards, assists audits, and drives continuous improvement across both shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the Food Safety and Quality system up‑to‑date and operational.
• Support internal and external audits and close out corrective actions.
• Review QC documents and daily records, raising NCRs when needed.
• Maintain and update system documentation and calibration schedules.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly quality reports and trend analyses.
• Assist with mock recalls and manage the NCR tracker.
• Circulate quality reports and create purchase orders for the department.
• Uphold the 20 key quality department procedures and perform any additional duties assigned by the QA manager.

Required profile

• Matric certificate and a relevant supervisory/management qualification.
• Food Science degree, Food Technology diploma or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years of administrative experience in Food Safety Management Systems.
• Experience with FSSC 22000; knowledge of animal‑welfare standards is an advantage.
• Ability to work with a large, diverse workforce and handle pressure.
