Quality Specialist – Metrology

About the role

The Quality Specialist – Metrology will lead Benteler Automotive's metrology team, ensuring accurate measurement processes and supporting product quality across the plant. You will be responsible for implementing measurement techniques, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement in dimensional governance.

Key responsibilities

• Create and install work instructions and procedures for the laboratory.
• Ensure measurement techniques are effectively rolled out throughout the plant.
• Maintain CMM and GOM programs for all components and products.
• Integrate GOM systems into daily metrology activities.
• Plan and organise capacity, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate daily measuring orders and train staff on laboratory methods.
• Support clients in defining testing concepts and maintain required environmental conditions.
• Update part stability graphs for VW and lead the weekly dimensional governance program.
• Plan and execute product audits according to Benteler requirements.
• Support launch projects and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
• Lead a team of at least four employees, promote a respectful work environment and enforce SHE procedures.

Required profile

• Matric‑qualified Metrologist.
• 5–10 years of experience leading a metrology team.
• Programming experience with PC‑DMIS, Polyworks and GOM software.
• Strong background in MSA, calibration and SPC.
• Good communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
