Quality Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing

About the role

A leading automotive manufacturer in Prospecton, Durban is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer. The role focuses on ensuring that all manufacturing processes and finished products meet customer specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain quality control procedures and standards across the production line.
• Monitor manufacturing processes, conduct inspections, audits and process assessments to verify compliance.
• Analyse quality data, identify trends, recurring defects and areas for improvement.
• Investigate non‑conformances, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Support and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure effective closure of corrective actions.
• Prepare for and participate in internal, external and customer audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in automotive manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of automotive quality tools, methodologies and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
